Ruth Harriet Jacobs, self-proclaimed ``outrageous woman,'' has more invitations to speak around the country than she can handle, and she thinks she's figured out why.
``People want to see someone who's enjoying aging,'' says Jacobs, who is 70. ``Aging has had such bad press in this country. People want to get courage by seeing someone who's enjoying it.''
A sociologist and former college dean, Jacobs certainly qualifies. Sure, there's her poetry and her pep talks urging people to be a RASP Remarkable Aging Smart Person.
