NSW: Release secret rail reports to public - Opposition

SYDNEY, Feb 25 AAP - Damning reports into Sydney's rail system should be released tothe public, the NSW opposition said today.

Details of the reports leaked today revealed the system to be perilously close to "strangulation"

because of soaring passenger numbers and recurring track and train faults.

The reports, prepared by former rail boss Ron Christie for the state government, said"operational paralysis" could be avoided only by adding new lines and up to 80 stations,buying 770 carriages worth $2.2 billion and spending at least $20 billion in the nextdecade on …
