NSW: Truckie killed by another truck as he inspects rig

A truck driver inspecting his rig after it blew a tyre on the NSW Central Coast has
been hit and killed by another truck.

Police say the semi-trailer driver, believed to be a 54-year-old man from Canberra,
was assessing the damage to his Volvo truck when he was struck.

He suffered massive injuries and couldn't be revived.

The accident happened about 3pm (AEDT) yesterday on the F3 freeway near Tuggerah Lakes.

Police are interviewing the 34-year-old driver of the second truck.

The man's death brings to 49 the state's road toll for the year so far.
