Vic: Life sentences for large scale drug traffickers bill

MELBOURNE, Feb 28 AAP - Large-scale drug traffickers could face a maximum life term
in prison under new legislation to be introduced in the Victorian parliament, Attorney-General
Rob Hulls said today.

Mr Hulls said the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act would be amended to
introduce a new category of large-scale commercial trafficking.

The category would carry a maximum penalty of life imprisonment but it would not be mandatory.
